Portex Orator Tracheostomy Speaking Valve is a one-way speaking valve intended for single patient use which can be used with fenestrated, cuffed or uncuffed tracheostomy tubes with a 15mm connector.

Each pack of portex orator tracheostomy speaking valve contains a speaking valve, an oxygen ported cap and a cosmetic cap.

The speaking valve cap opens for ease of cleaning. On inspiration, the valve opens, allowing air to enter the lungs. The valve closes on expiration, redirecting air through the upper respiratory tract, including the vocal cords, allowing speech.
